Shri Guru Gita (Song of the Guru) is a sacred text describing the Guru-disciple relationship, the nature of the Guru, the importance of devotion and service, and the role the Guru plays in leading the disciple to Self-realization. The full text of the chant (transliterated and with English translation) is in the book The Nectar of Chanting.
Immediately following the Guru Gita there will be a brief but very important Community Meeting at 12:20pm. In this meeting, we will present financial projections for the sustainability of the SYMC Sarasota, given the recent increase in the center’s monthly rent by 25%. Read more….
Amrit Brunch with savory cereal, chai and other potluck dishes will be served after the Community Meeting. The cost is $5. The brunch is a self-serve buffet in a small indoor space and we eat around a conference table which seats 10.
